Colorado’s 2021 Drought
It’s officially summer and the mercury is on the rise. Despite the unseasonably wet spring in Denver this year, much of this state-the high county and western slope in particular-is experiencing historic drought conditions. The drought is having a profound impact on our state’s rivers, free stones and tail waters alike. The impact of the lack of water goes beyond not just reduced flows but also results in increased water temperatures (see our last blog Know Your Water Temps).
